List of Best Food Trucks in New York City

Everyone likes to treat themselves to a really nice meal at a five-star restaurant, but sometimes getting something a little cheaper and more cheerful is nice. That’s where food trucks come in! These mobile restaurants are a great way to get a quick bite to eat without spending a lot of money, and these days, food from a food truck can be just as good as food from a place where you sit down.

These are the best food trucks in New York that you probably haven’t heard of. They have everything from weird names and ideas to some of the best simple food.

1.     Cinnamon Snail

This cute and unusual food truck serves the best vegan and kosher food for any time of day. On the breakfast menu, there are two kinds of pancakes and a breakfast burrito (without eggs, of course), as well as comforting burgers and tasty sandwiches with tofu, tempeh, and seitan.

If you need a little caffeine, wash it down with ginger ale, root beer, or organic fair trade coffee and feel good about helping the planet while you do it.

2.     Gorilla Cheese

Gorilla Cheese is about the grilled cheese sandwich, a classic American snack. Prepare for ooey-gooey gourmet sandwiches, which can be as simple as cheese on bread or as complicated as triple cream brie with prosciutto and strawberry jam.

You can even make your own from the cheeses and extras they have. Side dishes like tater tots and (of course) tomato soup is great for dipping, and you can even get s’mores to melt on graham cracker bread.

3.     Glazed and Confused

Want to find a food truck that sells sweets instead of a full meal? Find Glazed and Confused, a bright blue truck that only serves the best mini doughnuts. These doughnuts have no artificial ingredients or trans fats so you can eat them guilt-free.

They are also very tasty. There are more than ten flavours, like cream and chocolate, but you could also try something a little different, like the “hangover” doughnut, which has maple syrup and bacon pieces and a name that fits.

4.     Nathan’s Mobile Food Truck

Find out where Nathan’s Mobile Food Truck is parked, and you can try a Coney Island hot dog without going all the way to Coney Island. New York City is known for its hot dogs, but these are the best of the best. The food truck also serves burgers, wings, and fries.

5.     Tacos El Bronco

Unlike most of the other entries on this list, Tacos El Bronco isn’t about crazy branding, and they don’t have a fancy social media presence. You will find some of the best, cheapest, and most authentic tacos of any food truck in the city.

You can expect to see a line at this simple white truck, but it’s worth the wait. There are Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes here, and they won’t hurt your wallet at all.

6.     Cheong Fun Cart

The husband and wife team who run Cheong Fun Cart are both from China. They focus on serving traditional Chinese breakfast foods, which you should try if you haven’t already.

This one doesn’t have a big menu or fancy branding, but Cheong Fun Cart doesn’t need either because everyone knows they serve some of the best street food in Brooklyn.

7.     Hard Times Sundaes

Don’t be fooled by the name. This is not an ice cream truck. Instead, Hard Times Sundaes serves classic American snack foods like burgers, hot dogs, and fries. If you don’t like how popular Nathan’s is, you can come here instead and get a burger that tastes just like a burger should.

There’s nothing fancy, just burgers, double burgers, and triple burgers (if you’re hungry!) with thick bacon and onions that have been caramelised.

8.     Korilla BBQ

This one might not be so much of a secret since it was on both “The Great Food Truck Race” and “Sesame Street.” But that doesn’t mean Korilla BBQ isn’t worth a trip! Look for their truck with tiger stripes. It serves Korean BBQ with a twist that makes it much easier to eat on the street.

You can get your favourite foods in the form of burritos, rice bowls, salad bowls, and even a Keto Bowl. You can combine different proteins, sauces, and vegetables to make the perfect meal (including vegan and gluten-free options to cater to every diet).
